About my area

The Loire Valley takes its name from the giant meandering Loire River which is the last wild river in Europe. The local area is characterised by rolling hills and forests making it feel like you are close to nature much of the time. The grand history of the region is easy to discover in the proliferation of chateaux in the area, many of which are open to the public and have events throughout the summer and magical experiences at Christmas. There is a strong sense of tradition in many of the pretty rural towns and villages in the area, many of whom have markets and a famed annual village fête! Life can be as quiet and relaxed or as adventurous and energetic as you wish it to be. The area is served by two accessible airports at Nantes and Tours with regular flights to the Uk and the Ferry ports of Caen, Dieppe and Le Harve are around 3 hours away. The TGV from Tours provides fast train services to Paris and easy access to the A85 autoroute provides excellent road links to the rest of France.

About me

My family have been spending all our free time in France since 2012 and we wanted to make a permanent move, so began searching the different regions whilst on holiday. We always enjoyed our visits to the beautiful Loire valley and in 2019 we bought a house in a lovely village, moving here permanently the following year. It's easy to fall in love with the area. There are so many chateaux to explore and winemakers to visit. We can spend much more time outdoors with the family here. The clement weather means that the summer feels longer giving more time for days at the lakes or cycling along the river. Our beautiful old tufeau stone house, which turned out to be a former walnut mill, along with a collection of farm buildings have kept us busy with renovations. However, the space we now have, both inside and out, makes the hard work worth it. As a new family to the village, especially with young children, we have been welcomed and love the local events usually involving food and wine. The local schools were so friendly and accommodating, the kids settled quickly becoming bilingual within months. My 17 years' experience of working in property and my love of France made becoming a Leggett Immobilier an easy decision. I’m committed to helping people find and purchase their dream home and I’m always available for enquiries, whatever point you are at in your journey.
