About my area

I live about 9km west of Brantôme, a beautiful historical town, commonly referred to as the Venice of the Périgord. Its abbey, with the oldest bell-tower in France attracts tourists from all over the world. It lies on the Dronne river which flows through this region to join the Lisle river in Libourne. About my area

I have lived in the Dordogne for 10 years. It’s a fascinating and beautiful area of which one never tires. Colorful market towns, an area renowned for its cuisine, and a welcoming spirit all attracted me here. I had visited long before I put down roots here. This is traditionally a region appreciated by the British due to its rolling hills and extensive forests and also due to history, as this region once belonged to the English crown. Anyone considering a move here should take into consideration the space here – no overcrowding! Also a certain timelessness. On the other hand you are only 84km from Limoges and 77km from Bergerac, both with their airports and regular flights to Britain. Bordeaux is 159km away and Angoulême, with its TGV connection to Paris is only 58km. close
