About my area

I live in the Occitanie region, in the Minervois between the mountains and the sea. One day I may choose to ride into the Montagnes Noires and the next day, to the beach. The lifestyle is easy going and you can choose to be as busy as you want to be. The weather is beautiful most days, although it can get rather hot in Summer. Learning French is definitely a must in my opinion, if you want to enjoy, integrate into and understand the French culture of the South!

About me

My name is Gillian and I was born in Zimbabwe, qualified as a pharmacist and have lived in Capetown South Africa, UK, Seattle USA and then decided I wanted to move back to Europe and particularly France, in order to learn French and have my children grow up to be bi-lingual. Choosing the South of France was a bit of a thumb-suck but a very good one! I love it here with the coastline, the low population and the beautiful outdoors and splendid backroads where I can cycle for dozens of kilometers without seeing a car. I have been here for 14 years now and would not like to live anywhere else!
