A beautiful property located in the heart of the ancient city of Loches. The walls of the city form the boundary of part of the extensive gardens. The property is approached through huge gates into the walled garden.

A stone stairwell with tiled stairs leads to the large open plan first floor (34m2). On one side is a fitted kitchen. The room has a wall of windows and a door leading to a balcony which looks out to the castle walls and the collegiate church of St Ours. There is a beautiful fireplace with the original metal closure. A window looks out over the town towards Beaulieu-les-Loches. One major feature of the room is the elegant solid wood parquet flooring. Past the kitchen is a hallway with doors to a toilet and a laundry area (7m2) with plumbing for a washing machine.

There are two staircases from the main salon. One leads to a bedroom area (10.6m2 gross) with built in cupboard and a view towards Beaulieu-les-Loches. The second staircase leads to another area which could be used as a dressing room or bedroom (10.8m2 gross), and an ensuite shower room beyond (7m2). There is a door leading to an upper terrace of the garden.

Outside the property, there is an entrance into the caves. There is also a stone staircase which leads to the external terraces and the balcony at the first floor. There is a side entrance door onto the street.

A further staircase leads to a garden gate. This goes around the top of the garden and into an area which is wooded. There is a gate from the gardens into the pedestrian area around the castle walls. It is possible to walk through the garden to the old town in a few minutes. In front of the house is a large lawned area which once used to have a vegetable garden. The property is extremely private and not directly overlooked. The views and location are exceptional.

The Royal City of Loches has a lot to offer as well as the restaurants and bars, the leisure facilities, swimming pools, doctors, vets and local hospital. There are a full range of schools including an International school. The twice-weekly market is also a short stroll away. Walking around the ramparts of the old city itself is an interesting experience and offers fantastic views at certain points.

The SNCF train station runs a regular service to Tours. You are on the doorstep of the huge Royal Loches Forest of over 50km2 for those who want some outdoor walking, running or cycling.
