Farm for organic milk production

This dairy farm is to be found in the Green Périgord between Brantôme and Mareuil-en-Périgord. The farmland is situated on rolling countryside and on the bottom of a valley. The soil is a mixture of clay and lime, which encourages the growth of the grass in the summer season. The animals are watered by a spring from November to June. 10km from Brantôme and 13km from Mareuil.

The farm is run on organic principles and has been so run for the last two years. The current owner has an agricultural certificate stating that he has been respecting this practice. So, no chemical fertiliser or pesticides used for over four years. The farm consists of a group of agricultural buildings and 33 hectares of grassland which surround the buildings. There are also 40 additional hectares of pastureland which are rented. The buildings consist of 2800sq.m. of barns and hangars : milking room, dairy, a barn where the milking cows can sleep, a covered hangar for the heifers, a stock room, a silage room and a slurry tank. There is also an opportunity to take over the animals, if desired. These cattle are Prime Holstein and give a high quantity of milk. It's also possible to take over the agricultural equipment.
