About my area

There are 4 Departments in the region of Brittany, the Morbihan being the most southerly. Vannes is the capital city (Total pop approx. 145000 ) and its Port sits just back from the beautiful ‘Golfe du Morbihan’ spotted with its numerous small islands. The region offers a spectacular coastline with many long sandy beaches to stroll along, activities include boat trips and island visits, sailing, golf courses, equestrian centres, trekking and cycling to name but a few. Many gastronomic experiences including an abundance of seafood await the visitor as you might expect - Bon appetit! The Morbihan can be easily reached by : Ferry – see Brittany Ferries services Portsmouth-Caen-Cherbourg, Le Havre, Saint-Malo, Poole-Cherbourg, Plymouth-Roscoff and Saint-Malo. Not forgetting Ireland Cork to Roscoff. By Plane – Nantes and Rennes airports border the Morbihan and are easy for drop-offs and pickups. Also flights to and from Dinard available. By Train Eurostar - TGV via Paris. Paris-Rennes with its recent uprated highspeed TGV line from 1hr30mins !

About me

As a child, summer holidays were spent on our small family sailing boat cruising the northern coast of France and the Channel Islands. Memories of seafood direct from the markets and fresh baguette in the morning never really went away and I jumped at the chance to do some seasonal work in France from 1994. A couple of years later, I met a beautiful young French lady who would soon become my fiancée, then wife and mother of our two children. Over the years our journey has brought us across France to the unspoiled shores of southern Brittany, which ticks a lot of our boxes. I have been lucky enough to work in both tourism and property sales over the last 20 years, both of which have been great ways to share with clients the French lifestyle/culture and continues to be a pleasure. A très bientôt. If I had to give one piece of advice to anyone considering a long-term move to France ?? Learn the language, it’s another 60million people you can talk to. ‘Voilà’.
