La Péniche is static as it is mounted on a concrete foundation and has two storeys of about 128m2 each. The upper storey comprises a bar and restaurant of 50 covers and a separate room in the stern to develop. The lower storey, partially used for storage, is ripe for developing into another venue space. Also on the lower level are toilets (one for clients, with handicap access and one for personnel), the washing up area and the kitchen which is in an attached building on the quay side.
The covered terrace of 170m2, and the other quay side areas, amounting to 700m2 in all, are covered by a 20 year right of occupation lease from the Mairie (Mayor's office/town hall) of which 18 years remain. The terrace seats about 130 covers making a total of 180 covers minimum. There is also a bar on this level with easy access to the kitchen. There is plenty of scope for further development on the quay side as well as in the barge itself.
The venue could be developed for weddings and other events as well and there is support from the Mairie for developing the space.
The business is being sold with all its material included, and ongoing contracts with suppliers if desired.
