Tignes is a high altitude resort linked to val d'Isere forming the world famous Espace Killy with over 300km of piste . The grand Motte is at 3450m ad Tignes Tignes Les Brevieres at 1550m with a huge amount of varied terrain. The ski season starts in late November and runs through to early May .
There is plenty for non skiers to do with a lovely pool , state of the art gym , weekly market and easy access to the mountain restaurants . There are also many activities like husky dogs, Ice diving , sleigh rides , snow tubing to name a few.
Summer Skiing is less popular , but the activities on offer in this resort in the summer are second to none . The lake comes alive with paddle boarding and pedals, as well as extreme water jumping . There is live music on and around the lake as well as a host of skate boarding , mountain biking , golfing , trail running events .
Tignes is around 3 hours fro Geneva and Lyon , and 45 minutes from Bourg Saint Maurice which is the local server town for the Upper Tarentaise
