The commune :

Barbotan les Thermes (twinned with the commune of 32150 Cazaubon), is a spa resort, welcoming 12,000 curists/year from March to November.

It is also a popular family holiday destination with its leisure centre on Lac de L'Uby (80 ha), classified as a Station Verte, Fishing Station, Cittaslow and Wine Route, attracting several thousand tourists a year.

There are around 1,700 year-round residents.
