About my area

The Tarn is a secret treasure hidden in plain sight. Not too far from the sea, not much further from the ski resorts of the Pyrenees and with plenty of mountains of our own to explore, the area offers plenty for nature-lovers as well as historic towns and villages, great local cuisine, little-known but delicious wines and a climate that provides us with four clearly-defined seasons and a green landscape. Almost any sport has a club nearby and local communities are active. There is always something going on at every time of the year. If you prefer to keep to yourself then tranquility is easily found in the many hidden hamlets and isolated homes in the hills. And if you hanker for the buzz of city life then Albi offers just that on a small scale while Toulouse takes it up a notch or two. Let me introduce you to this special place.

About me

I have lived and worked in the Tarn, in south-west France, since 2013 and my family and I love it here. With three children at school locally and running our businesses, we have got to know the area and the systems very well. I speak English, French and German and still do occasional work as a translator. I love to go for walks and bike rides though the hills and valleys of our beautiful region and take the occasional trip to the beaches of the Med. When it snows, out come the toboggans and when it is too hot to do much else, a swim in the lake followed by a little apéro on the beach is just perfect.
