About my area
When Louis Bonaparte married Napoleon's stepdaughter in 1804, Napoleon gifted the newlyweds a magnificent chateau at Saint-Leu-La-Forêt before installing them as King and Queen of Holland. After Napoleon's fall, Louis became known as The Count of Saint-Leu, and his tomb can still be visited at Saint-Leu-Saint-Gilles parish church today. During his son Napoleon III's reign, the beautiful countryside along the Montmorency valley attracted wealthy Parisians who built impressive country residences in meulière stone. Today, these former country villages have evolved into some of Paris's most sought-after suburbs, offering an exceptional quality of life, particularly for families seeking spacious living and gardens. Located just north of Paris with excellent transport links via rail (direct lines to Paris Gare du Nord), air (Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport), and road, the Val d'Oise serves as an ideal base for both Paris commuting and international travel.
About me
My ordinary life as a UK Sales Executive transformed when I met my French wife. We relocated to France in 2009 and purchased a house for renovation in 95320 Saint-Leu-La-Forêt, Val d'Oise. The area perfectly suits our needs: Paris is just 30 minutes away by train for work and leisure, while the Forest of Montmorency—2,200 hectares of rolling woodland with extensive footpaths and bridleways—is merely a 5-minute walk away, perfect for outdoor activities. This personal experience has fueled my passion for helping other families discover their dream homes in this exceptional region. In 2014, we adopted twin boys who brought life to our 5-bedroom house and garden. Our family now actively participates in a vibrant local community featuring over 400 associations covering various sports and leisure activities.
