About my area

Nestled at the far end of the Bozel valley, at the entry to the Vanoise National Park with towering peaks and glistening glaciers, Pralognan la Vanoise ( 1410m) offers the unique charme of an unspoiled French alpine village combined with all season mountain activities: Skiing at the foot of the Grand Casse and Mont Bochor in winter all the way into spring, leading directly into the spring ski hiking season, offering ski touring and snowshoeing over the sunny peaks and glaciers with many refuges being open for multiple day tours and great food and ambience. During summer, Pralognan is a true hub for all mountain activties: be it hiking, climbing, mountain biking, paragliding up high- or exploring the traditional mountain life by visits to the alpages and farms and through the many summer festivals celebrating this original life style – or just enjoying the peace and beauty of it all from a lounge chair. Fall season offers stunning vistas and the changing of the colors on the mountain slopes, and you have it almost all for yourself without the bustle of summer. A few minutes further down, there is the small yet picturesque village of Planay (1100M) and its hamlets Chamberanger, (1250m) La Novaz, and Villard: true french mountain living, old, stone-and-timber houses, beautiful views, waterfalls, alpages and steep forests, bringing you yet another playground for all year mountain living: Offering soft, sustainable tourism, Planay the ”Hikers Paradise” as it promotes itself, is truly that: Around the peaks of the Grand Bec, Pointe de Vuzelle and Pointe de Meribel, there are endless possibilities of enjoying a completely unspoiled nature all year long. Just over the mountain, and only 10 minutes from the all year round small town of Bozel is Champagny (1250m) and Champagny le Haut, offering access to the vast ski resort ParadiSki La Plagne- Les Arcs with its 425km of slopes. Connected yet maintaining its mountain village charme, Champangy is the base to enjoy endless, world class skiing without the resort style architecture of the large resorts. The valley of Champagny le Haut at 1500m has enjoyed the status of a listed natural site since 1992 and is characterised by its traditional hamlets, pastures, waterfalls and access to hikes, refuges in summer and nordic skiing and ice climbing in winter. The entire area offers a large variety of available housing types, both for holiday homes as well as permanent residences: from weathered barns waiting to be converted, charming old, traditional stone and timber house, to newly build chalets and apartments covering all price ranges and expectations.

About me

Our family started skiing in the Vanoise and Tarentaise region since the early 1980’s, exploring all the great ski stations in that area. I continued this tradition as an adult, spending many years of vacations in the area, both summer and winter, for hiking, climbing and skiing. In 2018, my wife and I bought a small restaurant in Pralognan, enjoying the possibility of living and working in such a stunningly beautiful place. Deeply connected with this area and its people, I am lucky to have developed so many relationships that allowed me to have a solid understanding of the housing market and its potential and opportunities. I am sure I’ll be able to help you find your special spot in this beautiful corner of the mountains.
