Dating back to to 1870, this traditional Béarnaise house and adjoining stone barn (added in 1907) are linked by a sunny internal courtyard. Both buildings have been renovated inside, but the exterior façades are in need of some TLC! You will, however, appreciate this property's energy efficient feautures, which include an air-water heat pump, underfloor heating and double glazing throughout!

Set back from the road, you could create a lovely private drive and parking area/carport at the front of the building.

The front door of the house opens into a light and airy entrance hall. Straight ahead are some floor-to-ceiling glazed doors, which open out to the internal courtyard. If you have children, the area has many excellent schools, including bilingual French/English schools in Orthez (6 minutes) and Navarrenx (15 minutes), as well as the International School of Béarn in Pau, which teaches the English National Curriculum (35 minutes).

The Béarn is extremely popular with tourists throughout the year. The region is loved for its proximity to the mountains and the sea, as well as its Jurançon vineyards and healing thermal spas in Salies-de-Béarn. The area is superb for hiking, mountain-biking, white-water rafting, skiing, fishing... and for those who prefer beach-based activities, the famous resorts of Biarritz and St-Jean-de-Luz are about 55 minutes away...
