It is 24 km north of Carcassonne, with its mediaeval walled city, shops and airport, and 25 km south of Mazamet, famous for its wool trade and markets. The town of Castres is 44 km to the north, with mountain lakes and wonderful scenery, perfect for outdoor sports and activities. To the south, the châteaux Cathars, and the Méditerranean (86 km). Spain is 165 km (less than 2 hours' drive).
