I have been visiting France for decades, touring around and renting gites in most areas. I have owned a house on the Cap d’Antibes, which I bought and renovated. About my area

live and work in Douzains, a small hamlet between the towns of Lauzun and Castillonnes in Lot and Garonne. This is an ideal location, being on the border with the Dordogne. The area is steeped in history and culture, surrounded by Bastide towns fortified by the English in the 100 years war. The area offers much in terms of cuisine, typical of SW France, with many restaurants ranging from table d’hotes to Michelin starred establishments. The area offers much in terms of cuisine, typical of SW France, with many restaurants ranging from table d’hotes to Michelin starred establishments. Its rivers and countryside offer many attractions from kayac-ing to horseriding, or leisurely afternoons sampling the areas wines. International airports are to be found at Bergerac, Bordeaux and Toulouse, so within easy reach for UK and Europe, even for a weekend break. Summers are long and warm, with regular gourmand night markets in most of the towns. An ideal part of France for living a stress free life, for a holiday home or a gite business. close
