About my area
I live near Lamballe in Côtes d'Armor, 30 minutes from miles of sandy beaches and in a friendly little village. This area is very accessible for links to the rest of Brittany, Normandy and beyond which is ideal, as my role as a regional coordinator takes me all over the Grand Ouest Region - lucky me! Travelling around seeing the whole of our wonderful area, finding new treasures along the way; stunning views, pretty villages, vibrant towns and great places to stop for lunch
About me
My family decided to move to France in 2004, a decision we've never regretted for a moment. We had a really good and happy life in the UK, lived in a beautiful rural area, close to a medium sized town where our son went to a good school yet we've found here that life is even better. Living up to their reputation, the local Breton people have been so welcoming and friendly, life for children is much more ‘traditional’, sword fighting and climbing trees are so much more fun than virtual adventures!
It’s also lovely to raise our son in a village where everybody knows his name, and ours, and greets him personally. Their respectful attitude is contagious and the well maintained local village school manages to combine a class size of 10 with access to the latest technology, healthy lunches, plenty of sport, cultural excursions and gardening as well as giving him the neatest hand writing in the family. Politeness and a willingness to help are just normal; everyone wishes you Bonjour and has a smile – in fact my mother has come to live here too as she feels it’s a nicer place to be.
Crime, hospital waiting lists, working long hours and traffic jams are all things we've left behind. We’ve all met some wonderful friends and the great thing is, we all have lots of time for each other. Working with Leggett Immobilier is a great way to be able to get out and about and keep my finger on the pulse of what’s happening locally. The area we’ve chosen to live in is thriving and it’s nice to be part of it’s growing development.
