About my area
I live in a little village in the Lot et Garonne, one of the departments of Aquitaine, SW France surrounded by fields and beautiful valley views. Nearby is Casteljaloux, a spa-town famous for its thermal baths. Lot et Garonne is an area rich in history and connections with England stretching back to the middle ages with ancient Bastide towns fortified by stone walls, little villages and rolling hills and woodland. The soil of Lot et Garonne produces good food and is famous for plums, tomatoes, grapes and ducks, with sweetcorn and sunflowers appearing every summer. For visitors, Lot et Garonne is ideally situated between Bordeaux & Bergerac airports, with the Autoroute des Deux Mers providing good road links between Toulouse and Bordeaux.
